We are currently recruiting for a Unix support Analyst

 

Profile Summary
The Unix Team provide technical support for the Unix and Linux environments. In addition they support the European Midas+ environment infrastructure (IBM iSeries), the EMEA Internet access facility and the Oracle Virtualisation environment (OVM). Support provision covers both day to day activities and support requirements in the longer term including refresh, upgrade and replacement projects.


Duties and Responsibilities
•    Day to Day  and longer term support of the Unix/Linux and i5/OS environments, OVM environments
•    Lead the Migration from OVM to VMware over 2022 and 2023.
•    Ensuring incidents logged in the Problem Management System are resolved and managed according to defined SLA targets and Problem Management Procedures in operation
•    Design, procure and commission to operational status new and upgraded platforms
•    Provide consultancy, support and expertise to other teams and the wider bank as required for matters related to areas of responsibility and knowledge
•    Ensure supported environments meet all Banks security and compliance standards
•    Ensure provisions for resilience and recovery are in place and effective  according to DR plan
•    Ability to work shifts within a 7am to 6pm Mon to Fri working day. Availability to cover out of normal hours, weekends and public holiday requirements for system maintenance and support duties.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience


•    Ability to demonstrate Advanced experience of Red Hat Linux (Essential)
•    Ability to demonstrate good OVM (oracle Virtual Manager) experience (Essential)
•    Ability to demonstrate good VMware experience (Desirable)
•    Ability to demonstrate IBM iSeries Administration (Desirable)
•    Ability to demonstrate SAN, SAN Fabric and Storage advanced skills (Desirable)
•    Working knowledge or Solaris, Sybase and Network technology (Desirable)
•    Working within agreed SLA’s and incident management (Essential)
•    Proven communication skills (both verbal and written) (Essential)
