What is the opportunity?

This position’s responsibility is for Trade Finance Business Origination and Products Development in EMEA region.

Trade finance products coverage includes all any kind of trade finance GTBDE has responsibility for such as MTL related which is related to FI trade finance (LC Confirmation, Forfaiting and LC Refinance), Structured Trade Finance (Prepayment, Pre-Export Finance), Supply Chain Finance, Invoice Discount Finance, Conventional Trade Finance like LC Issuance, Bills Bought and Bank Guarantee including Standby LC.

In terms of business origination, not only originating participation transaction through strong relationship with agent banks, most importantly, promoting primary business with direct approaching to Mizuho’s customers together with RMs and leading establishment of Trade Finance Business Strategy for both short and long term bases is mandatory required.

In addition, understanding and promotion of Mizuho’s business strategy and policy about risk weighted asset allocation, profitability assessment based on SA base, cross sell such as current deposit / FX, Origination & Distribution business model  is required.

What will you be doing?

•             Understanding this team’s role and promoting the business with strong leadership;

•             implementation, execution and delivery of trade finance and working capital solutions to clients to maximise profit contribution to the organisation and to enhance Mizuho’s visibility, reputation and market presence;

•             development of (a) new trade finance products and solutions that meet clients’ requirements and (b) business strategies for the product / solutions in discussion with Head of GTBDE through identifying market trends and anticipating clients’ requirements;

•             building and strengthening network with clients, peers, advisors, arrangers, platform providers, etc.

•             To achieve revenue / income targets through delivering covered trade finance products to the clients through identifying their requirements, delivering solutions to them by structuring schemes and concluding the transactions.

•             To develop strategies to achieve revenue / income target.

•             To improve and enhance trade finance products (receivables financing, invoice discounting, supply chain finance, etc.) and to meet clients’ needs and to improve operational efficiencies.

•             To drive and take strong initiative in developing new product / solutions in consideration of market development and clients’ needs, with a long-term perspective.

•             Working closely with middle and back office team, manage the whole process of transactions from origination to execution (including implementation, on-boarding of suppliers in SCF, assisting the overseas branches on booking / administrative procedures including AML/KYC procedures, etc)

•             To proactively coordinate with other GTBD Europe Office members and share information on client needs and/or deals in order to effectively manage our business activities related to trade finance solutions in EMEA.

•             To collaborate with internal parties, especially the RM departments, to (a) proactively propose effective approach to clients to meet their requirements, (b) assist in addressing enquiries from clients based upon product expertise, (c) proactively share information on status and action plan on deal pipeline, and (d) ensure delivery of services and solutions to customers in line with their expectation in terms of quality and time.

•             To maintain good relationship with corporate clients, third-party solution providers, financial services companies, etc. to develop and update industry knowledge, understanding on market trends and clients’ requirements.

•             To provide internal session on trade finance products to RMs, and to provide guidance and assistance.

•             To represent Mizuho in various trade finance conferences and other opportunities, and to proactively enhance Mizuho’s visibility in the market. To actively attend meetings held within the trade finance industry to gather information and to collaborate with peers to make our voices heard to make changes where necessary to facilitate business promotion.

•             To seek improvement of internal risk analysis process to fit market standard by getting required H.O. approval in case of being gap which is one of bottle-neck for business development.

•             To perform day-to-day management of the team, including recruitment and performance review. To coach and mentor to help members’ career development.

What do you need to succeed?

•             Originating, structuring, and arranging trade finance solutions (receivables financing, invoice discounting, and supply chain finance etc.) at a major international bank

•             Marketing / sourcing of new deal opportunities from clients and executing / closing deals, thereby actually making financial contribution to the organisation

•             Leading a team and working with various internal departments

•             Solid working knowledge of platforms supporting WCS products

•             Extensive experience in working capital solutions products (receivables financing, invoice discounting, supply chain finance, distributor finance, inventory finance, etc.)

•             Proven track record of working with supply chain finance and invoice discounting platforms and solid experience in on-boarding buyers and suppliers.

•             Proven track record of executing all trade finance products, including LC documentary credit and structured trade finance.

•             Solid experience in execution of structured supply chain finance / receivable financing deals that require extensive knowledge of limited-recourse structured finance / securitisation programmes / asset-backed lending solutions

•             Strong track record of business success and deals closed
