We are recruiting for a DC Operator

 

Profile Summary

To manage and perform the daily Data Centre tasks across a fixed 12-hour shift pattern covering Days & Nights. Running the daily checks and EOD batch processing for both local and eternally hosted systems. Providing out of hour telephone support to users requiring technical support. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities


•    Manage the daily Data Centre & Emergency IT Security tasks of the Mizuho Production Systems on a 24-hr by 5 day working environment, or as required by the business
•    Ensure that the Data Centre Procedures are followed & the necessary documentation is completed at all times 
•    Ensure all incidents are treated as high priority & are passed on to the appropriate team in a timely manner
•    Highlight and update any discrepancies in procedural documents where necessary & keep up to date. This will also include keeping up to date the relevant manuals in the Mizuho documents Team Library pertaining to Datacentre operations. 
•    Liaise with the appropriate support teams, Users and Staff where necessary. These will include, but not limited to, Service Desk, Applications Support, European & Head Office staff and external 3rd parties (e.g. Iron Mountain, Fujitsu)
•    Highlight any recurring errors with the appropriate teams to ensure that solutions are put in place to prevent repeats.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience


•    Knowledge & experience of:
•    Data Centre shift working - Essential 
•    All Data Centre Operating procedures & practices - Essential
•    A Service oriented environment - Essential
•    Working within agreed service levels - Essential
•    Quality standards such as ISO 9001:2008 - Desirable
•    Proactive, with a high degree of accuracy – Essential
•    To be flexible in working hours to provide optimum Data Centre cover – Essential
