We are recruiting for a Business analyst to join the Banking COO team on a 12 month Fixed Term contract.

 

Profile Summary


The successful candidate will join a new and fast growing team within the Banking Chief Operating Office supporting the Front Office covering structured finance clients, designed to help support key strategic decisions through the creation of insightful analysis and expansion of a new data and analytics framework.

 

You will provide highly detailed financial and business analysis to the Business Heads and General Managers of the Front Office to aid their decision making ability.

You will be surrounded by a team of business analysts providing you with the opportunity to develop your analytical skillset through the creation of regular and ad hoc management reports, analysing the performance of the multiple portfolios, and identifying key areas of strengths and weaknesses. 

 

The Banking Chief Operating Office in Mizuho EMEA is headed by Banking Chief Operating Officer and sits directly under Deputy Head of EMEA (Head of Banking). COO is responsible for business promotion for Mizuho’s Banking business in EMEA by developing and leading business strategy and supporting front offices. 


Vice President in the Banking COO Office will be responsible for direct support to the Deputy Banking COO. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities


This role is to support the Deputy Banking COO to fulfil its responsibilities as described below.
You will be particularly expected to perform the followings:
•    Direct support to Deputy Banking COO and ESFD Management for business development and planning, including delivering high quality research/analysis, leading project and developing & changing policies and procedures.
•    Perform ad-hoc analysis of the portfolio, assisting the team with monthly reporting to senior management, COO and London colleagues including ESFD

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience


•    Experience in strategic planning
•    Experience in project management
•    Experience in coordination between HO and the regional office
•    Possess strong analytical skills to interpret and present data
•    Experience coordinating across multiple departments & function of an organisation i.e. business, technology, operations, finance
•    Understand core banking products and the internal processes of an international corporate bank
•    Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to summarize key findings
•    Experience using Microsoft Office suite (Excel and Powerpoint a must) 
•    Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with internal stakeholders
•    Excellent time management and organisation skills
•    Self-motivated with the ability to lead and inspire others to perform
•    Understanding of basic compliance and operational risk controls
•    Demonstrable ability to innovate, support change and problem solve
•    Collaborative nature to contribute to a successful team performance
•    Language skills - English essential. Japanese is an asset, but not essential
