What is the opportunity?

GTBDE provides clients with a variety of cash and liquidity management, and trade finance related services.

As part of the transaction banking business, the Cash & Japanese Corporate Sales Team is responsible for the cash management business in the EMEA branches of Mizuho Bank. The team consists of three sections functionally : Sales which promotes cash and liquidity management products to Japanese and non-Japanese clients in Europe, Support which is responsible for the client onboarding and support of channel products (mainly e-Banking), and Product which is responsible for development and maintenance of the channel products.

The candidate is expected to carry out client onboarding and support of channel products (eg. Host-to-host) and liquidity management products (eg. Pooling) for Japanese and non-Japanese clients of all European offices. The candidate will also support the maintenance and development of transaction banking products and the enhancement of the existing internal systems. The candidate will additionally provide advice and support not only to the clients, but also the front office, sales representatives and European offices in relation to the existing cash management products.

As a team member, the candidate will support the project lead for the introduction of new products or new functions to European branches.

The candidate will be required to build relationships with various departments, including the front office, middle office, back office, and headquarters. Communication with the Tokyo Head Office plays an important role, so Japanese language skills and knowledge of Japanese work culture are preferred.

Planning, time management, and client communication skills are required.

Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills related to material preparation, and internal and external communication are required.

What will you be doing?

•             Client implementation for the channel and liquidity management products

•             Ongoing client support for the channel and liquidity management products

•             Timely client communication relating to implementation and support

•             Coordinate with client IT and various internal teams to carry out the payment file testing (eg XML files, bank proprietary formats)

•             Maintenance of the channel and liquidity management products

•             Provide European branch support for the channel and liquidity management products

•             Understanding of internal systems and processes, build knowledge of Head Office Procedures and Individual Office Procedures

•             Basic understanding of regulatory requirements (PSR, PSDII, etc)

What do you need to succeed?

•             Experience in Transaction Banking Business at a bank

•             Knowledge of payment types in Europe (SWIFT, SEPA, Target2, CHAPS, etc)

•             Knowledge of SWIFT and bank messaging (in particular ISO20022, MT101, MT940, pain.001, camt.053)

•             IT expertise in file formats (XML, CSV, Text, JSON etc.), familiarity with file testing tools, - Essential

•             knowledge of networking protocols (sFTP etc) and their uses – preferable

•             IT expertise in database, infrastructure – preferable

•             Fluent English speaker – required; Japanese language – preferable

•             End User PC Skills (Microsoft Office, business specific…)

•             Able to work within a team and maintain working relationships

•             Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments at the same time

Supervisory/Managerial Skills to consider

•             Bachelor's degree or equivalent

•             Understanding of Japan work culture, and work experience in a Japanese bank or company are preferred

•             Experience of participating in projects in the area of Transaction Banking and involvement in the release of new systems or products.
