What is the opportunity?

The Finance department includes a number of teams such as Financial Accounting, Management Accounting and Taxation and is responsible for providing up-to-date financial performance results and management information to support the Business. The London Financial Accounting team is responsible for London, Milan and Dubai’s financial accounting and reporting related activities. This role mainly focuses on Dubai and Milan, but will also have some involvement with London branch.

The ideal candidate for this role will have strong numerical and analytical skillsets to assist with maintaining the integrity, accuracy and completeness of the monthly & quarterly financial and regulatory reports, good interpersonal skills, a self-starter, the ability to work well in a team environment and display a positive, results oriented attitude.

What will you be doing?

Dubai / Abu Dhabi Branches

•             Responsible for all aspects of Dubai branch ledger close and reporting, involving various month end adjustments including accruals, prepayments and completing various underlying reconciliations

•             Responsible for preparing Dubai & Abu Dhabi branch year-end statutory accounts

•             Review and approve expenses using the in-house Expense Processing System      

•             Management of the Fixed assets register, including handling of asset capitalisation, disposal and depreciation related aspects

•             Financial reporting including ensuring the integrity of the general ledger and compliance with Japanese GAAP

•             Preparing Variance analysis commentary of key balance movements

•             Head Office reporting on a quarterly basis for consolidation purposes

•             Perform Balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation of all account balances

•             Preparation of quarterly & annual regulatory reports for the Dubai and Abu Dhabi regulators, including liaison with external auditors for review & signoff of annual submissions

•             Liaise with the Tax team to ensure VAT is accurately reported

•             Ensure that procedures are kept accurate and up-to-date

•             Review of loan documentation in relation to the booking of upfront loan fees and ensuring revenue recognition is correctly handled

Milan Branch

•             Assistance with restructuring which will include winding down activities of the Milan Branch, transferring balances over to Mizuho Bank Europe N.V. and support with handling residual balances that need to be cleared ahead of Milan branch closure

•             Responsible for all aspects of Milan branch reporting until branch closure is completed

London Branch

•             Perform analytical reviews of Profit & Loss including variance analysis commentary

•             Support other areas of Finance with adhoc projects, as required

What do you need to succeed?

•             Bachelors Degree or equivalent

•             Strong accounting skills and good Excel skills

•             ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification is highly desirable

•             Self starter; demonstrated ability to proactively investigate and identify solutions

•             Strong numerical and analytical skillsets

•             High level of organisation and attention to detail

•             Experience utilising the system Sun Accounts is desirable

•             Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
