We are recruiting for an Associate for our Planning and coordination team within International Acquisition finance.

 

Profile Summary


- Assisting Directors with all aspects of IAFD administration and planning
- Responsible for preparing reports/analysis for IAFD management and HO both on a regular and ad-hoc basis
- Closely co-ordinating with other divisions and branches within the Bank as well as the subsidiaries of MHFG
- Supporting the Private Equity Fund Management through portfolio monitoring and reporting, financial operation and recording, market analysis and general day-to-day operations
- Monitoring and analysing IAFD performance in light of managerial accounting
- Assisting GM, JGM and Directors in any special projects as required

 

Duties and Responsibilities


1.    PE Fund Management (Main duties and responsibilities) 

- Supporting the Private Equity Fund Management through portfolio monitoring and reporting, financial operation and recording, market analysis and general day-to-day operations

 

1) Reporting/ Portfolio Management/ Transaction processing
- Producing various reports including accounting, risk management and performance    monitoring of PE fund investments  
-   Process of internal operation on capital contribution and distribution
-   Process of legal and tax documents in relation to PE fund investments
-   Monitoring and analysis of the private equity fund portfolio.

 

2) New investment/ Divestment
-  General work on helping to identify opportunities, prepare internal applications and external documentation for investments and execute the transaction

 

3) Major Reporting
- Accounting reporting, monthly/quarterly reporting, cash flow management and system data input 

 

4) Sponsor relationship management
-  Knowledge management in relation to PE funds and PE sponsors
- Assisting IAFD members by sharing information and providing analysis regarding PE funds and PE sponsors

 

2.    IAFD Administration / Planning

- Preparing reports/analysis for IAFD management and HO, co-ordinating with other divisions and branches within the Bank as well as the subsidiaries of MHFG, monitoring and analysing IAFD performance

 

1) Business Promotion of IAFD
- Assist business promotion and enhancement in IAFD business by preparing presentation materials and coordinating with other related divisions.
- Assist other teams on transactions by checking internal procedures and coordinating with other related divisions

 

2) Management accounting regarding IAFD performance
- Producing and analysing of IAFD management account and reports, particularly in relation to PE funds and PE sponsors (such as PE fund investment performance, referral income), to assist the strategic planning of the business
 - Updating IAFD management account file by reflecting the relevant data from various sources (incl. to download the relevant data on internal systems)
- Assisting to prepare internal reports and applications relating to IAFD management account
- Coordinating with other teams and other related departments for the above

 

3) Compliance management / Administration
- Assist of insider information management: proceeding with internal procedures for registration, de-registration and others
- Assist of information control: preparing internal reports and applications and conducting internal inspections
- Assist of other compliance related management such as checking presentation materials distributed to outside of the Bank, conflict of interest management and other ad-hoc request from other related departments
- Assist of IAFD general expense budgets management
- Coordinating with other teams and other related departments for the above

 

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience


- Intermediate understanding of accounting and booking (preferably, understanding of equity-related numbers and ratios)
- Knowledge of Private Equity business and portfolio management
- Highly Numerical 
-Computer skills (Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Native Japanese and fluent English speaking and writing skills
