We are looking for an Assciate to join our SFPM team in London.
Profile Summary
The Structured Finance Portfolio Management team is responsible for credit risk management and administration activities for a diverse portfolio of transactions in the renewable energy, power, natural resources, infrastructure/PPP, real estate and securitisation sectors. It is both a client-facing and a Middle Office role, and includes inter alia amendment/waiver requests, rating reviews, proactive monitoring of all project risks, covenant monitoring and interface with key external and internal Project Stakeholders (including Sponsors, Project Managers, external advisers, other financial institutions, Bank Senior Management, Credit Departments, Treasury, Loan Admin and other internal departments as required). The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, risk aware, experienced in project finance, customer focussed and enjoy working collaboratively in a positive team environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Account management of a range of project finance assets across all PF sectors (eg Power, Infra, Natural Resources)
- Careful and methodical credit assessment of regular amendment / waiver requests, rating reviews and other internal reporting
- Diligent and proactive credit monitoring through the review of all covenanted financial and project information (e.g. financial models, Borrower and Adviser operational / construction progress reports) as well as compliance with all regular reporting activities in line with the bank’s policy and procedures
- Administration tasks and regular reporting relating to a portfolio of assets including but not limited to covenant monitoring, rating reviews, Know your Customer and Anti Money Laundering, Mandates, etc.
- Active interface with internal departments including Credit, Legal, Middle Office, Treasury, Audit and Back Office.
- Maintenance of good relationships with Agent banks, clients and other professional bodies through the timely process of requests and attendance of bank meetings, site visits etc.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Solid understanding of risks associated with project finance transactions
- Some knowledge and interpretation of legal documentation
- Sound financial analytical skills / financial modelling ability / accounting knowledge
- Previous experience in managing a diverse portfolio of assets across power, natural resources and infrastructure sectors
- Ability to solve problems, make decisions and innovate
- Good communication skills, self-motivation and flexible work approach
- Independent thinker but collaborative nature to contribute to a successful team performance
- Good organisational and time management skills and ability to work under pressure at times
- Good presentation skills required
- Language skills desirable
- Batchelor’s degree or equivalent desirable.
